Washington DC Training News: Training Services On Demand Sets Three-Year Reliability Record

January 5, 2004

(Washington DC)   Imagine that your work involves nonstop nationwide transportation of people and products... a complex, changing, moving matrix of humans and materials being transported by ground and air over an entire continent, virtually nonstop.

Then, imagine the gremlins that might impede your success.

If you have a good imagination, you'll be impressed by Training Service On Demand's new record: The company hasn't missed an onsite training program for any reason in three years.

''This is the sort of thing you hate to brag about for fear of jinxing it,'' said Frank Whyte, a principal of Training Services On Demand. ''We've worked very hard to be reliable, and to have a backup plan for every backup plan. But admittedly, luck and faith have played a part.''

Training Services On Demand (TSOD) conducts corporate and government training programs throughout North America. Its 2003 commitments lofted its trainers from Las Vegas to New York, Miami to Toronto, and New Hampshire to Kansas. And they never missed a beat.

So, did everything go perfectly?

''Not quite,'' Whyte said.

The year was complicated by a sticky-fingered flight attendant who stole a company laptop computer. Fortunately, the theft occurred on the ride home from a training tour, resulting in no inconvenience to TSOD customers.

TSOD's lawsuit against the airline recovered enough to cover the costs of litigation. ''It's tough to get a leg-up on clever thieves,'' Whyte lamented.

And there is the Clarion Hotel in Miami, which lost an entire carton of seminar materials, and actually charged Whyte for an extra day of parking while he was waiting for the Clarion staff to find his supplies.

''They finally shipped the seminar box back to our office weeks later with a note saying, 'no harm done,''' Whyte said. ''I'm amazed that Robert Mayo (manager of the Miami Clarion) could be naïve enough to believe that seminar materials are appropriately delivered after the participants have gone home.''

The greatest paranoia of the year involved awaiting the arrival of Whyte's first baby.

''Victoria found a gap between training programs,'' Whyte said. ''She made her entrance in the week leading-up to Christmas, which is traditionally slow for corporate training. She obviously has great instincts for training logistics. She's certainly more savvy than anybody at the Miami Clarion.''

Training Services On Demand (TSOD) is a top-tier provider of onsite training programs, seminars and workshops. Combining proven curricula, expert facilitators, and modest tuition schedules, TSOD ensures the availability of high-quality employee development experiences to a growing, blue-clip client list.
