Team Building Workshops
Logistical Considerations for Your Program
This page provides a logistics overview for TSOD MBTI® Team Building and Executive Retreat Workshops. Contracted customers are provided with more specific information, plus access to a suite of online customer resources.
TSOD's Team Building programs don't call for anything exotic or time-consuming on your part. Because we're experienced in on-location seminars, we're both self-reliant and flexible.
However, your attentive participation in the planning and execution of your workshop will contribute to its success.
Before the Workshop
We'll ask that you distribute the MBTI® assessments to each participant in the team building program. Question books, answer sheets, and instructions will be provided.
Time is of the essence. We'll score the answer sheets and use the results to customize your workshop, and to publish profiles for each participant. This is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. It is important that we receive the completed MBTI® questionnaires two weeks before your workshop.
Team Building Workshop Space
In considering the space you will choose for your workshop, please keep in mind that we will be conducting small-team exercises. This means that participants will be getting-up, moving around, and forming groups around the flip charts. A conference room that seats 20 persons may not be comfortable for an interactive 20-person team building workshop.
Ideally, attendees should be seated at group tables, rather than traditional training room seats.
The following training room supplies are required:
- Two flip charts, with markers,
- A facilitator's table with access to two electrical outlets, and
- A projection screen, approximately ten feet away from the facilitator's table.
In addition, an LCD projector is required for the facilitator's laptop computer. We may be able to provide a projector, but this should be discussed in advance.
On-Site or Off-Site
Team Building workshops may be conducted at your offices or as part of an offsite meeting. Please let us know in advance where we'll meet.
Offsite team building workshops offer fewer distractions, better participant focus, and improved time management. If you need assistance with an offsite program, our strategic partner, Conference Solutions, is available to manage the meeting room requirements, plus team activities, group meals, discounted lodging, and other planning needs.
Time Considerations
MBTI® Team Building and Executive Retreat programs naturally last three to four hours, depending upon group size and participant interaction. An ideal agenda length is three-and-one-half hours.
The add-on programs, Applied Team Building, Team Communication, and Conflict Management, tend to run a bit longer. A four-hour agenda block is appropriate.
These times include breaks and participant exercises.
The programs may be artificially constrained to lesser time periods. However, these programs already have been optimized to ensure that they achieve their intended goals in the most time-efficient manner possible. Further condensation may reduce the effectiveness of the team building experience.
