    Learning Objectives for Your Program

      This page describes the instructional aspects and logistics for TSOD MBTI® Team Building and Executive Retreat Workshops. These half-day team growth experiences use proven, scientific tools to reveal team-member personality types. You'll discover ways to work together more effectively by leveraging interpersonal differences.

      The core team building programs may be supplemented by half-day workshops focusing on Team Communication, Conflict Management, or Applied Team Building.


    Team Building Needs Analysis

      TSOD's MBTI® Team Building addresses an array of organizational development needs. The program is provided to work groups who seek one or more of the following outcomes:

      • Increased interpersonal communication skills,

      • Decreased conflict,

      • Improved team decision-making skills,

        Teambuilding Workshops

      • Heightened sensitivity of interpersonal issues,

      • Increased awareness of team culture, and

      • Improved team effectiveness and productivity.

    Workshop Objectives

      At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

      • Correctly identify the elements of personality type,

      • Describe their own workplace type, and the key indicators of opposite personality preferences,

      • List potential causes of conflict and miscommunication among differing personality types,

      • Describe the implications of personality preferences on supervisor-to-subordinate, and peer-to-peer relationships,

      • Describe his/her team culture, and the implications of personal variances, and

      • Create a plan for the effective consideration of personality type in achieving the team's overall goals.

    Instructional Methods

      TSOD's MBTI® Team Building involves the following steps:

      1. MBTI® questionnaires are issued to participating team members, usually one month in advance of the workshop session. Written instructions are provided to encourage the most accurate results on the instrument. The questionnaire includes 93 questions, and takes approximately twenty minutes to complete.

      2. The completed questionnaires are conveyed to the Team Building Workshop Facilitator.

      3. The Team Workshop Facilitator hand-scores the instruments, making note of the personal and team dynamics implied by the scores.MBTI® Teambuilding Profile

      4. The TSOD staff publishes a Workplace Personality Profile for each member of the team. This twenty-page, bound report provides a full narrative on the attendee's personality type, including a workplace profile, a stress-coping profile, and a synopsis of all other personality types.

      5. The Team Workshop Facilitator analyzes the full-group MBTI® results, and customizes the audio/visual aids to reflect the results.

      6. Participants gather for a half-day, facilitated workshop that progressively reveals MBTI® results and encourages strategies for the application of the information.

    Workshop Agenda

      TSOD Team Building programs are interactive; The exact duration varies from three to four hours, depending upon group size, composition, and the options chosen by the facilitator to meet your team needs.   [Sample Agenda]

      When a half-day add-on workshop is added to the core Team Building program, the resulting learning experience lasts six-and-a-half to eight hours.
